Sledding Dream to Disaster

Snow was so limited this year, but we did get a small chance one fateful Saturday afternoon.  Since before Mae was even born I would run Symmes Park and see the huge hill that would be an AWESOME sledding hill.  I always dreamed someday I would take my kids sledding there.  I'm still not completely sure how it happened.  I put them in the middle of the hill.  I guess when they scooted forward to get it going, they must of turned the sled because instead of going straight down the hill they took a sharp left and headed right for lots of trees and bushes?  A bridge with a 3 foot drop?  As I sprinted over there I knew I couldn't get there to stop it.  I just had a huge prayer in my heart.  Anna was in the front of the sled and Mae was in the back as they went CRASHING through heavy, leafless bushes.  Mae got all cut up in the face; Anna...spit a piece of branch out and walked away spotless.  Huh?  She was in the front!  The mystery will never be solved, but what could have been a LOT worse of an outcome, turned into just the end of the sledding day and one cut up face.  It could have been so much worse. #grateful

My dreams finally came true!

It was short-lived

If this is what the girl in the back looked like...

...what on earth kind of disaster did the girl in the front look like?

Uhhh...?

Her face must be destined for greatness someday

Mom was there for TLC

I went back to the scene of the crime

Where they enterered

Where they crashed

This is where I ultimately thought they were headed toward

And that could have been a much worse outcome
