4th of July

We celebrated the 4th just as a family (cute girls pictured) and then later grilled out with more family (not pictured).  Our patriotic girls say thanks to all those who have fought for our freedom. -T

Sportin' the red and blue

Now with those teeth she's sporting the red, white, and blue!

Happy for the US of A!

Ah boy

Nothing says Happy 4th like this stuck disaster

The 3rd of July Parade

Another year, another trip to the Madeira 3rd of July Parade.  Mae was an expert this year.  She knew when she saw those fire engines she needed to hold her ears.  So no tears from her this year.  Anna - no ear holding, but no crying either.  Mae also got a nice size bag of candy which we all benefited from. -T

Happyyyyy

Papa D's just hopin' not to get whacked with a flag

Flags are so fun

Atta way, Mae!

Unphased Anna

Anna got more than candy - she got a little stuffed animal

The candy bag - too heavy to carry

Hard Knocks

In back to back days Anna and Mae had head injuries.  On day 1, Anna fell and hit her face on the window sill.  She was lucky it didn't leave a mark.  Later that day, Lindsey called Mae to the kitchen and she energetically sprinted to the kitchen with nothing getting in her way.  One of those things was Anna who, standing by a chair, fell and cracked her face on the chair.  That one DEFINITELY left a mark and...postponed a little bit longer her 1 year pictures.  The next day, Mae, again, energetically running and dancing in the living room stepped on a wicker basket which made her fall...head first into the end table.  That also left a mark and the picture couldn't do it justice of how swollen it got.  Luckily, neither injury lasted long physically. -T

Can't get much closer to that eyeball without hitting it

Down and out

Icing it down

The ice did help some

Who says dancing is a non-contact sport?

Another June Birthday

Tons of June birthdays...and that includes mine as well.  Papa D and Grandma Weez had a nice meal and celebration at their house.  I enjoyed the time together and wouldn't you know it - the candles still freak out Mae. -T

"Okay Mae...you want to help me blow this out...apparently I'm turning 1."

Anna's ready to blow from her chair!

Ah yes...how's the view from there, Mae?

Reds Game

Lindsey felt like it was time for the girls to go to their first Reds game.  I wasn't as positive about it.  Besides getting stuck in terrible traffic on the way there, the rest of the night was actually really great - outside of the actual game portion.  Both girls stayed up WAY past their bedtime, but remained pretty happy.  The only time Anna really ever cried hard is when Mae couldn't figure out why her seat wasn't going back up and so she started pushing really hard to get it to flip up.  It wasn't going up because Anna's foot was in it.  Anyway, she recovered fast.  We stayed until after we sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame."  We appreciated the extra help from Aunt Jackie.  Anna was content, but Mae LOVED it.  Has anyone else noticed all the birds flying around GABP?  Well, we all have now. =)  Add in all the music they play...right up Mae's alley. After it was all said and done - we might actually do it again eventually. -T

Another weird standing picture by Dad in this family picture...but let's be honest...is anyone really looking at me instead of the guy in the background?

Figuring out this new experience

Enjoying the weather - watching the game

So pretty

Life doesn't get much better than this, eh?

Enjoying the night

Mae was excited to point out the boats going by too

We could never capture her best dancing on film

Thanks to Aunt Jackie for her helping...and we just had to get a picture with Mr. Redlegs in it...that's one of the things Mae was wanting to see!

Anna Birthday x2

When it comes to birthdays - twice is nice.  For Sunday Family Dinner, we celebrated Anna's birthday again with the rest of the Schlensker side - and Father's Day some too. -T

Mae always loves playing with Pepe...Mae, are you happy?

Happy with Morgan...wow, Mae is ALMOST as tan as Morgan.

Too big, Anna?  A little overwhelming, eh?  Good work with the ice cream cake, Mom!

Happy

Proud dad moment - my kid already is wanting to wear eye black (so what if it's white here).

Mae and Anna at 1 Year

What Mae and Anna both looked like at a year old.

Why does Mae look so stocky?  And like a boy?
We were smarter with Anna and at least put her in female attire.  Chalk one up for becoming smarter parents!

Anna: A 1st Year Lookback

Anna - a look back at her first year.

Anna at 12 Months

Our little girl turned a year...which if you do the math...is 12 months.  So, the best news of all is this is the last of Anna's monthly pictures.  Don't worry, Anna, we'll still take your picture. -T

Why are you holding your ears?

There's that smile

They say she's 85th percentile for height

So cute

Oh don't act like YOU'RE the victim in these pictures, Mae!

Pay attention, Anna!  Look at Mae's great smile!

Okay sprinkles out Anna!  Mae can't hold that painful, fake smile much longer!

The best we got...probably ever...and I told you Anna about Mae not being able to hold the fake smile.
