It's All About that Base-ment

Days rolled by and little by little we got closer and closer with the details before carpet gets installed - painting, fixing, etc.  Some long nights, but so worth it. -T

We had our mudder come back and fix a few areas

And the door got put up so that was great...especially for Mae, who wanted the door up the 1st day

Lindsey painted shelves that we had the Grandpa Fish made

And a table from Uncle Pete

Okay so paint looks better than prime

The cover for the water shutoff

Nice work, Lindsey!  I tried to make the door look as good

And when I filled the cracks with concrete caulk and tried to clean off the putty knife with my hands...I couldn't get it off (I eventually did - 6 days later they were clean)

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like...Mid-November?

Nothing says November like a...snow storm?  A few days after this 4-5 inches of snow, I shoveled, broke up ice, raked, and cut the grass all in one day.  Weird weather - love the Midwest! -T

Brooklyn and her pretty blue eyes

She's just teasing us with the tongue - normally she can plug up her nose with that thing

Walking in a fall wonderland

Snow sandwiches came early this year

The Annual Family Picture between the Bushes errr Bush

Our annual fall family picture was JUST in time as an early snow storm came just a couple days after this.  Lindsey was inspired.  This year's picture was a little different as the dead bush that looked so pretty just a couple years ago, is now officially gone.  We're hoping it regrows itself. -T

Do we try anymore?  The first is usually the best

Nope, this one probably was - good thing we took another

Anna: Mae, are you smiling?

Yo Brook!  Up here!

Basement Progess - Walls

Sanding done and primer applied!

Leaf Us Alone! (But It Really is Fun in the End)

As with every fall, our yard produces a mountain of leaves.  It leaves us all in complete exhaustion.  Mae and I took a rest in our work.  Two Saturdays of hard core leaf raking.  -T

Killer

But what a nice reward

There's really no joke here, I did just about fall asleep

Some people take breaks

Drama

All the long hours are worth it with just a few smiles

Brooklyn loves leaf piles more than Mae and Anna did at that age

Maybe that's because she wasn't just dropped into it and disappeared like Mae did

Halloween with the Poe's

With Papa D and Grandma Weez out of town, the Poe's came over and trick or treated with our girls.  It's always a stressful time beforehand, and it was another cold/wet night (although it didn't rain during trick or treat hours) but in the end, our girls had fun. -T
Fairy, Ballarina, Doc McStuffins

Anna, Brooklyn, and Mae in case you couldn't recognize them

The Poe's arrive

Anna looks so tiny

Cute kids

Late to the party, but ready to go

I passed out candy and after 45 minutes remembered to light the pumpkin

Our little fairy returned

As did everyone else and they demanded treats (okay, the really did ask nicely)

And earlier in the day, we had a mudder come

Basement still is progressing
