2015 Farm Trip - Day 2

After a really hot night in the hotel with so so sleeping and Anna switching beds way too many times, we had a great breakfast at the hotel and ended up heading out just after 10:00.  I forgot dress pants for Sunday so after lunch in Lexington, VA we stopped at the ol' Walmart (THE place to go when I was at SVU) for some khakis.  We were back on the road at 1:15 and at the farm at 2:45 all by ourselves.  We got unpacked and then Mom and some of the Schlensker boys got there at 3:45, the Poe's/Erickson's arrived at 4:45 and Sandra, the hired cook, made an amazing dinner that night - lasagna and chicken.  It was good to be there!

Ready for more driving!

Never quite sure what Anna is doing

It took me years to finally see the Longhorns until the very last day last year - it only took 2 minutes this year

We won't mess with you

Happy to be out of the van

Love when the Texas girl where's a Cincinnati hat

Brooklyn's first "horse" ride

Not sure what the straight-legged thing she has going on

Oh great look back to the camera, Mae!

No need for a spotter

We had never met Red before

Family ride

It quickly went horribly wrong for me

All I saw while driving was a big mop of hair in my face

2015 Farm Trip - Day 1

We left a day early for our trip to Virginia.  We decided to drive halfway, have some fun, and then "sleep in" (in a hotel room altogether) and drive the rest of the way.  The first hour was terrible and no we were not there yet.  Things got better.  We stopped in a flooded Jackson, OH for lunch and took Wendy's to an underwater park.  We got to the hotel in the late afternoon and headed to the pool.  I thought Brooklyn was going to be my water baby, but when I grabbed her and jumped in the indoor pool that was FREEZING she lost her mind and wouldn't leave the comfort of her mother's arms after that.  Mae wasn't much better.  Anna was freaked out too, but she at least let me take her around the pool.  We grabbed dinner at Cracker Barrel and then it was time to get tired, but wired girls to sleep.  Judging the entire day as a whole - success!

Ready to go! ("Just remember, we won't be at the farm TODAY"

Lunch in the swamplands of Jackson

In Beckley, WV for the night - Mae is always helpful and is it just me or is Anna too cool for everyone?

Another Mild 4th of July Parade

For the 2nd year in a row, the weather was nice and cool for the 4th of July Parade.  There was a scare of rain, but all was well.

One side of me...

...and the other side of me.

"I looked out the window and what did I see..."  Candy!

There was a chance of rain

I want to say the loud trucks have begun
