C'Mon Man!

ESPN's Monday Night Countdown (pre-game show for Monday Night Football) does a segment called "C'mon Man!"  I use that line in the home.  Then Lindsey starting using it.  Now Mae does too.  To get an appreciation for the use of it in our home, you should see how it's used in context:

Here's the first time Mae ever used it without ever being prompted. -T

Mom had no idea when she was taking pictures of this that it would turn from "fun moment" to "funny moment."
I wasn't allowed on the lower half of the keys though - Mae kept saying  "No no no...this one Dad!"  She'd then place my hands on the higher keys.

I did it once, a second time, and then a third.  On  the third, she had had it!  "No, no no..."

"C'MON MAN!"

Once There Was a Snowman...and Crying

We had snow prior in the winter, but this was the first good packing snow.  Mae wasn't a fan of snow before...and that still held true this time around.  I built a snowman and once the snowman was finished she liked it (when she could see him from inside the window), but everything before that was a very sad.  Sitting her in the chair, where she wasn't technically "in the snow" helped, but she didn't want to be there for sure. She did do the snowman's nose which she was proud of at a later time. -T

"The chair" did calm her down some

She looks like she's having fun, but she's not

She looks like she's comfortable, but she's crying

Posing for a picture for Mom inside

It's not that she is so sad she doesn't want to look at it, that's just how I set her down and she's terrified to move

Oh look!  Mae and the snowman have similar facial expressions...yeah, Mae, he doesn't really want to be around you either!

If only we could get those sticks for arms to wrap a BIG hug around her - haha, how much do you think THAT would send her over the edge?

Well...it was fun while it lasted (for me)

Finding the Camera

Anna isn't a fan of tummy time, but put a camera in her face and all fussiness stops and the smiles begin. -T

I Hope They Call Aunt Kylee on a Mission

When I got my mission call, it was humbly in front of some family and a couple friends.  Through iPhones, Skype, and other means, half the world watched Kylee open her call to Baguio, Philippines and reporting June 19th (my birthday, she can give me my present early).  We watched her via iPhone open her call...and then it was just a bunch of butts. -T

We did FaceTime with Sarah and had a good view of the big moment

And then I don't think people realized we were watching all their rear ends in front of us

A Smiling Mess

The girl can smile. -T

Anna at 8 Months

Another month goes by and another easy photo shoot with Anna.  Well, when she's alone it was easy.  We did them together first and that's just always adventurous. -T

We decided to do them together first to humor Mae

I was informed by Lindsey that I put down the wrong blanket on the chair

Okay, well, I guess it's time for the individual monthly picture

One more try, Mae!

"This is the last smile I am giving if you keep letting me get tackled, Mom and Dad!"
"Hey!  Mae!  It's MY monthly pictures!"
"My turn, baby!" (That is not snot on my nose)

"I got ALL smiles!" (I promise it's not snot on my nose)

Standing tall
7'2" wingspan

When all is said and done, tearing up the sign is always the most fun

And she's done

Birthday, Baptism, and Family

We got to celebrate Kylie's 8th birthday and then take part in her baptism.  Laurie and Rylee came for the festivities.  It was crazy and a really good time. -T

Does anything make birthdays more fun than balloons?

Anna - happy to get a shot with the birthday girl

The Poe's on baptism day...I think this is the calmest Cameron was the remainder of the night

Grandma Weez and Papa D with Kylie at her baptism

Finding Her Interests

Sometimes I like to do what the girls are interested in.  You can tell their interests at this age, right? -T

Maybe she wants to by a cyclist...or just use the bike to get in shape for...

...oh, man!  She's going to be a hoopster!  (And her sister a cheerleader standing on the baseline...well, she'll probably be dancing on the baseline)

Hanging on the rim will get ya a "T," Anna!

She likes it.  Wait, she likes it, right?

Potty Training Goal: Complete

They did it!  Lindsey was persistent and Mae finally grasped it.  With an accident only here and there, Mae is fully potty trained. -T

Hours of playing in the kitchen, snacks, drinks, and talk of dry pants

Maybe Mae was just so bored of playing in the kitchen within the kitchen all day she finally decided to just give in and be potty trained.

It's a good day to be a dad!  That is NOT an oversized Tootsie Roll people!  (I wanna say when Lindsey sees this she will make me take it down)

Loving Your Sister Lesson: Sharing

Mae is still working on the whole "sharing" thing.  Here's her and Anna "playing" at their new table. -T

Okay and there's "not sharing" and then there's the extreme: welcome to the extreme!  Mae knows JUST how far Anna can reach.

Then if she does happen to grab something, Mae lurks in the background  and quickly swipes it away.

The Big Car!

No more tight fit trips!  We bought a van.  Lindsey, of course, worked her magic and got us a great deal.  I was all set to haggle, but through all the negotiation parts she told me to just stay out of her way.  My wife is hardcore!  Anyway, Lindsey and I love the van, Mae loves "the big car," and Anna doesn't care much for any car rides. -T

Lindsey didn't want to drive HER new car home!

I have no idea, but it makes for a good picture.

I love that Mae can see so easily out the windows!

Birthday Night: Grandma Weez

We celebrated Grandma Weez's 70th...oh wait, not yet.  We just celebrated Grandma Weez's birthday.  It was a good time for all, well, it was a good time for all once the fire was blown out. -T

Okay, I can understand why Anna's not in this shot, but why are the Poe kids the only one in this picture?

Well...someone is still a little iffy at times with candles I guess

I'm in a bad spot for getting everyone's wind blown on me

Okay Mae!  The candles must be blown out!  (She didn't push Nathan off Grandma Weez's lap to get this seat did she?  Oh, it's not nursery, nevermind.)
