Sick February

February was FILLED with coughs, colds, runs, flus, vomiting...and well, Lindsey's flu and vertigo.  She was a mess!  I think Anna was the first to puke...followed by everyone else (except Dad)...followed by another round of vomiting and some runs.  The climax though was when I got a call at work from Mae around noon on a Friday to come home.  I entered the house to find Lindsey in REAL bad shape.  So she got a fun ambulance ride (I was scared I would hurt her trying to get her in the car).  Aunt Katie came and picked up the girls (Mae got picked up by the bus for school and then by Katie later) and then Papa D and Grandma Weez got the girls at bedtime.  It was a looong day.  Lindsey got tested for a whole bunch of stuff and in the end it was influenza and vertigo.  The next day Brooklyn and Ashley both had fevers, but luckily, no flu.  Somehow though all of it, I never got sick.  When I felt like I was the morning after Lindsey spent the night in the hospital - a miracle was poured down onto our family and I never got it.  We were not said to see February end.

An ambulance ride!?  Some people have ALL the luck!

11 blankets later, she was ALMOST warm

Cancel the Memorial

For more than 2 days, Mae's Panda Bear was lost.  That's who she sleeps with at night.  We looked ALMOST everywhere! After we had called off the search - Mae found him! -T

Farm Trip Day 3: Horses, Pools, and Bee Stings

The girls loved riding horses.  They were even forced to have fun at the pool and enjoyed that too.  The downer of the day was when Mae and Siena got stung by bees.  One handled it a little better than the other.  It's nothing a little ice cream couldn't fix.  She did have the mark on her hand for a couple months after this so we do know it really did hurt her. -T

Oh how we love Logan - round and round he took them

Happy as can be

This place is shiny

Waiting patiently

"My turn!?"

Anna going on a ride with Morgan

A fun ride

Our girls have great cousins!

Loved it

Warming up to it

She just needs a little push

Everything is better with Aunt Laurie there

A great day

"One more time" this girl kept saying!

Happy girls!

Dang that bee!

Poor thing

Siena wasn't quite the wreck (or crying at all once they got back) that Mae was, but she did finally get some attention too

He did get her pretty good

"First a cast and now THIS!?"

Treats = Happiness

She got over it

The Winter of 2014 Continues

2 More Words - Record Breaking.  It was finally deemed the worst winter in Cincinnati on record.  The average annual snowfall for Cincinnati (according to the radio) is 22 inches.  As of February, we surpassed 42 inches - breaking the record (according to News 5).  Hey, go big or go home, right?  If we're going to have a bad winter, it might as well break some records. -T

Our little winter thug

Can she even see?

Happy Mae and well...Anna just wants to see what's going on!

It's all fun and games...

...until one sister doesn't know the difference between a snowball and an iceball

Although the chocolate does a nice job of covering up the blood and swelling...Mom always knows how to make it feel better

Once there was a snowman...that looked...well, nothing like a man really

So the first two balls rolled really nicely - no problem - all leading to about a 3 1/2 foot snowman.  I couldn't get the last ball to roll - it kept crumbling apart!  So that's why he looks like THIS!  No worries though - Mae loved him which makes it way better than last year's!

Oh the shoveling

The constant shoveling

Here lies our sidewalk and grass.  Can't really tell where one ends and the other begins, huh?  That's because it's just all iced over nice and evenly

Let's just say this took some time

New day, more shoveling - the story of the Winter of 2014

Santa Take 2

After last year's fail, Mae watched a lot of film and assured us she wasn't going to cry sitting on Santa's lap this year.  Anna was very mellow last year.  This year was just the opposite.  Mae could be considered mellow, but it was moreso she was concentrating REALLY hard on keeping it together.  In every picture of Mae she's turned and focusing on the Christmas tree - not responding to anything or anyone - totally focused.  Anna, well, she's self-explanatory. Poor Santa. -T

Santa's a good sport

Mae focused on her tree, Anna getting saved by Mom

Mae focused on that tree

Hey!  She looked at the camera!

Once we got to the Ward Party Anna found the risers

Hopefully next time she's at church and on the stage she won't just assume the risers are still there

Vacation/Project Day 3

For a couple years now, I've wanted to clear out this side of the yard.  I always wanted help though so the task didn't seem so daunting.  Well, I started this in the morning and waited for Papa D, who was addressing a bee issue we were having upstairs.  After the years of waiting for help, I STILL ended up clearing this out by myself - AND, little did I know, I'd get a heavy dose of poison ivy as a reward for it!  I wouldn't say it was "worth it" - there's nothing I fear more or hate more than poison ivy, but it sure did look good (for about 10 minutes until the wind blew and covered all of it with leaves again). -T

Papa D did come months earlier and cleared out the big branches and wood so I guess I didn't do it ALL by myself!

Leaves, overgrown bushes, vines, weeds the size of trees, etc.

I want to say the poison ivy was subtly in this area

I see no 3-leafed vines in here

Like I said, not worth it, but it looks oh so good!

I feel itchy just making this post

You can see the fence again!

And here come the leaves!
