Cabo San Lucas Day 3: Swimming With Dolphins

We swam with dolphins.  It's hard to remember anything else in a day when you swim with dolphins.  Some people have always wanted to do it, I personally have not thought too much about ever doing it, but when it was all said and done...it was awesome!  They taught us some signs for doing different things with the dolphins and we were amazed how easy they were and how the dolphins did all the work.  Outside of that, we ate a relaxing lunch with Scott and Emily, walked the beach, swam in the pool, had dinner with Scott/Emily and Randy/Crystal for about 3 hours and then sat around the bonfire and band and had dessert and played cards.  One funny thing that happened at the bonfire is Scott mentioned at dinner he had received a prescription for a 10-day trial to wear contacts and saved them for this trip so he could wear these really cool sunglasses that he's been wanting to wear.  He had them on at the end of dinner and then it was dark when we went down to the bonfire.  He was trying really hard to see the menu for dessert, leaning over to use the light of the fire to see the menu.  Lindsey leaned forward and said, "You might be able to see it if you'd lose the sunglasses."  Hilarious. -T

Good morning!

We ordered room service for breakfast (we hung our order on the door knob the night before) and got WAY too much food

Breakfast on the balcony

We can almost hear the sound of little girls waking us up WAY too early...nope, that's just the ocean

It's kind of fun not to have a care in the world for a few days

First trick - holding the dolphins - oh, and yes, they are VERY heavy animals

Our two dolphins we played with were Titan (the alpha male) and Scarlet

Just hold onto their fins we were told
Avoiding water in the face wasn't the easiest, but it wasn't bad

My turn

Learning the next "sign"
That's funny, that's the same exact sign she uses at home when she wants...

...a big smoochie!

Sorry Honey, you had to kiss Scarlet

Scarlet could dance though

You just reached your hand up and they would jump up and tap your hand

My turn for a smooch with Scarlet

Scarlet had hops

The dullest trick of the morning, but still we got pushed in a circle by a dolphin so it wasn't dull

Then there was the coolest trick of the day!  Lindsey and I both swam out and were told to lay on our stomachs...the dolphins were given the sign from the trainer at the other end and disappeared under water.  We then waited and wondered who they would come to first...in a matter of a couple seconds, I felt two noses pushing the bottom of my feet

The only thing we were told to do is once they started pushing us was to raise our hands in the air

They then pushed us straight up out of the water...the dolphins do all the work.

Then they left and went back for Lindsey

If you ever felt like you were about to lose your balance all of the sudden you could feel the dolphins readjust to balance you

Someone remembered she was being photographed

Lindsey was much more of a showman than I was!

Once we were done we moved over a pool to visit Apollo

Their skin is as smooth as it looks (sheds every 2 hours)

Apollo was a baller

In the gift shop afterwards

While there, we thought this stuffed animal looked like Anna when she was born

Once in a lifetime!

Back to the resort for lunch - The Peninsula
More fruity drinks!

Time on the beach

Cute

Our resort from the ocean's view

As far as we were allowed to go because of the golf course up above the rocks

It's really hard to catch a picture of big crashing waves!

The pool that looks like it's draining into the ocean (it's not)

Is she walking on the right side of the road or just scared of the cactus?

Our room from down below(the one directly to the right of the palm leaves of the palm tree)

Did I give up my "man card" by taking a bath?

Dinner at the Rosato

The bonfire and band

Waiting on dessert...I'm not sure if she's smiling at the camera or at Scott trying to read the menu with his sunglasses on
