4th of July Festivities

After pizza at Grandma Weez and Papa D's, we headed to the annual Madeira Independence Day Parade.  Despite the loud trucks, the girls loved it and loved getting candy and flags.  The next day (on the actual 4th), we had some outdoor water fun.  It was the first full-on water experience for Ash and she loved it.  She slipped and fell all over the slip 'n slide, and it was hilarious.  It never phased her.  We had a great time celebrating our freedom in this country!

Scrunchy face!

We take up a lot of space

The other end

Sweaty Chubbs

Our little patriot

Love those flags

Still not a fan of loud trucks

Snuggles with Mom

Love when they walk their dogs in the parade

Uhhh - where are 70 year old women dressed like this?

Ashley's first water fun

Sprinkler fun

I think they love it

Not really sliding, but slipping a LOT

She was kind of in the way, but everyone else made due

Success!

4th of July

We were without the Erickson's for the 4th of July, but the show went on regardless.

Waiting for the action

Ready for candy

Another Mild 4th of July Parade

For the 2nd year in a row, the weather was nice and cool for the 4th of July Parade.  There was a scare of rain, but all was well.

One side of me...

...and the other side of me.

"I looked out the window and what did I see..."  Candy!

There was a chance of rain

I want to say the loud trucks have begun

Brooklyn loves it

Parade or horror movie?

Post-parade popsicles

Things are about to get messy

What a cute momma

Feeling the pinks and reds I suppose

The day after - still feeling patriotic?  Or something.

4th of July Parade

The annual July 3rd parade in Madeira was missing the Erickson's this year.  The show went on though.  Mae really didn't want to go because of the loud trucks.  She seriously was in tears before we left.  She got it together and we took turns holding her ears.  By the end, she loved being there.  The weather was AWESOME - low 70's and low humidity.  It was perfect out there and I didn't want to leave. -T

Most of the kids were happy to be there

Then there's this kid

Anna had to work solo in getting all the candy for the family

Her arms have to be getting tired, don't they?

Indeed they were

Mom and Brooklyn enjoying the night

There we go - there's that pretty smile!

Too little too late - she didn't get much candy!  Thanks to Anna for getting us our fix

Who needs candy though when there's dogs to pet

4th of July

We celebrated the 4th just as a family (cute girls pictured) and then later grilled out with more family (not pictured).  Our patriotic girls say thanks to all those who have fought for our freedom. -T

Sportin' the red and blue

Now with those teeth she's sporting the red, white, and blue!

Happy for the US of A!

Ah boy

Nothing says Happy 4th like this stuck disaster

The 3rd of July Parade

Another year, another trip to the Madeira 3rd of July Parade.  Mae was an expert this year.  She knew when she saw those fire engines she needed to hold her ears.  So no tears from her this year.  Anna - no ear holding, but no crying either.  Mae also got a nice size bag of candy which we all benefited from. -T

Happyyyyy

Papa D's just hopin' not to get whacked with a flag

Flags are so fun

Atta way, Mae!

Unphased Anna

Anna got more than candy - she got a little stuffed animal

The candy bag - too heavy to carry
